Calculator-screen

This is a concept illustrating what the iPadOS native calculator might look like, an idea often mentioned by Apple's senior vice president Craig Federighi. Currently, iPads do not have a native “calculator” app as they do on iOS, as there are many quality alternatives on the market and Apple has not yet developed a single app that meets the requirements for iPadOS.

Screen 2

Instead of devising a full-screen version, I thought of a popup version. This would make the calculator more accessible and easy to use while using other apps. In fact, we often need a calculator while we are already engaged in another activity on the iPad, and having to interrupt that activity to open a separate app is inconvenient.

Screen 3

My prototype works similarly to other iPadOS features, emerging from the corners such as the “quick note” feature. Swiping with a finger or the Apple Pencil from the outside to the inside of the screen would bring up the calculator quickly and intuitively.
